What I am reading this week

If I have free time I am usually use it to read.  I can't get enough information into my brain:)

Here is this weeks reading:

"Black Heels to Tractor Wheels" By Ree Drummond
This book made me laugh cry and swoon all at the same time!  It was so good and a very quick read. I loved reading about Ree's fairy tale romance and all the crazy things that happened to her. I did have one unanswered question at the end of the book though: "Did she ever find out who the lawn mowing underwear lady was?"
You can check out her great blog here.

2 Cookbooks by Ree Drummond as well!
There are so many recipes that I can not wait to try in these two cookbooks.  I am a person that has to have pictures with her recipes.  There were fabulous pictures with every recipe as well as extras that will give you a peek in to Ree life on the ranch!

Magazines:

Urban Farm I found by accident at the grocery store yesterday:)

Clean Eating and Us come automatically on my Nook(along with many others)...Love, Love Love it!!! I love magazines, but if i don't have time to read them they pile up and I end up throwing them out before I even crack them open. I always have my Nook with me so there are no piles and no losing a current issue.  Everything is organized neatly!

AlsoI have just started "Fast Food Nation" By Eric Schlosser
So I will keep you posted on this one!

The 4 Week Plan

I have been struggling to find a weight loss plan that I can stick to and one that works for me. I have tried Weight Watchers, Atkins, South Beach, Paleo, Clean Eating...you name it I have probably tries it. After 1 to 2 weeks I would get bored with the choices or angry at the restrictiveness.

So starting tomorrow I am going to do 4 weeks of different dieting perspectives and see which one gives me the best results at the end of the week.

Here are the weekly plans:
Week 1- No Sweets
Week 2- No grains
Week 3- Carbs under 50 g a day.
Week 4- Meat/Veg/Fruit only

At the end of each week I will tally my progress to see which approach is going to work the best for me. After the 4 weeks are up I will go with the best plans that showed results and switch back and forth. Mainly so I do get bored and fall off the diet deep end!!

There are some grounds rules that I must follow no matter what plan I am currently doing!

The rules:
* Work out 5 days a week for 60 minutes-Cardio/Strength training
* at least 64 Oz of water a day
* All sweets must be homemade(no processed crap!!)
* No fast food but I can go to a sit down dinner once a week. (Choosing wisely of course!)
* Track all food, but not necessarily calories

Off I go!!

The Clean Eating Blog

I was focusing on writing strictly on a blog about Clean Eating (here). Well life intervened and I did not make through one week. As disappointment set in I lost interest is just writing about eating whole foods. I actually found it boring because I had so many other thoughts in my head, but since the subjects had nothing to do with Clean Eating I did not want to but them on my blog.  The is how the The Bird Dish Garden was born. I wanted to write about a variety of things, so I have abandoned the The Test of Clean Eating. Since I am mostly computer illiterate I can not figure out how to transfer things over. I am slowly figuring it out and I am hoping I can have it all combined into one soon.  For the time being this is where I will be from now on!
Be prepared for jumping all over as I do not usually stick to one thing for very long.  I jump back and forth between my hobbies.  It depends on the day and what strikes me as being the best activity for that particular day.

I will share my favorite things, books I am reading weekly, birding adventures, whats going on in my garden testing new recipes, weight loss ideas and anything else that may strike my fancy.

I would love to hear from my readers, so if you have anything to add or things I should check out, please let me know! You can reach me here on the blog or by e-mail- thebirddishgarden@gmail.com
